Birds & More has a cuddly variety of baby birds, and some adult ones too, who are looking for homes with loving parents. Our feathery kids are hand fed with TLC, (tender loving care) and are not, I repeat NOT allowed to go home until they are fully weaned and eating on their own for at least 2 weeks. Our babies are weaned on fresh and frozen fruits and vegetables before they ever see a seed. And moreover, our babies are NEVER fed sunflower seeds. Sunflower seeds are fattening, addictive like chocolate is to us and it makes the bird very hyper like what caffeine does to a human plus it carries a bacteria called E-coli which can make the bird very ill.

The reason we don't allow the babies to go home with you before being weaned is that I believe that an inexperienced person should not be hand feeding as there are too many dangers involved in this process! The inexperienced individual wouldn't have a clue about what to look out for and sadly we've heard too many horror stories, so in good conscience we are here to make sure that your new addition to your family is happy and healthy one! All of our babies are handled and loved by our entire staff so that they become socialized. You will become your baby's flock... the most important thing in its life. And when you purchase a baby, we encourage you to come and visit them, handle them, (as soon as you sterilize your hands) snuggle and bond with your baby just like you would if you were at home. This will make the transition easier and allow our expert staff to answer all of your questions while you get to know your baby.

Depending on the availability, we have African Greys, Cockatoos, Macaws, Amazons, Eclectus, Tiels, Keets, Love Birds and many other types of babies. If we don't have the type of bird that you are looking for, we are usually able to find what you want and we will have the little darlings in your loving little hands ASAP.

Each type of bird has its own personality. The talkers are the African Greys, however that is not to say that all the others can't talk... they do big time. The Cockatoos are the love bugs, if a Too could be surgically attached to your chest for life it surely would choose to do so. Amazons are independent, playful, wonderfully intelligent kids and good talkers as well. The Macaws are the gentle giants, some tougher than others but wonderful and entertaining, and friends for life.

It is extremely important to remember, that getting a bird is a life long commitment and one not to be taken lightly. You will be taking a child into your life, a loving, mischievous, 3-5 year old with extraordinary intelligence, BE PREPARED... this will probably change your life forever, by adding a rainbow and huge smiles.
